The Journal asiatique (print: ISSN 0021-762X, electronic: ISSN 1783-1504) is a French academic journal founded in 1822 by the Société Asiatique with the aim of promoting Orientalism and Oriental studies. The Journal asiatique has been published without interruption since 1822. It is presently published twice a year by the French National Centre for Scientific Research (French: Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, CNRS). It publishes articles in French and other European languages. Cited texts are presented in their original languages. Each issue also includes news of the Société Asiatique and its members, obituaries of notable Orientalists, critical reviews, and books received.
